KYBELLA® is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment to destroy fat cells. It is a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, which helps to absorb fat. It is injected in the area under the chin to improve your profile. This treatment usually involves 1-3 sessions, 6-8 weeks apart. Kybella continues to work for up to 6 months after injected, and once desired results are achieved, further sessions aren’t usually required, as the fat cells are destroyed and can no longer store fat. Pain involved in minimal/moderate, depending on pain tolerance, and I always use a topical anesthetic. Sessions are between 30-45 minutes. Can be used off-label for areas like the "bra fat”, abdominal area, and pre-jowls.
